About St. George’s
St George’s Town, located at the east end of Bermuda, was the original capital of the islands. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site based on the unique architecture of the well preserved historic buildings. St George’s is located 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from Hamilton. There is a regular, reliable bus service and summer fast-ferry service to all other parts of Bermuda. There are shops, two banks, a pharmacy, a post office, a grocery store, museums, pubs and waterfront restaurants all in close proximity to the Town Square. A short distance to the north of the town, 15 minutes or less on foot, there are three lovely beaches with some of the best snorkelling in Bermuda.
